CHURCH ON SUNDAY

We meet together for Church on Sundays at 10.30am & 6.30pm. You would be more than welcome to join us!

Also, on the first Sunday each month, we have Cafe Church at 3.00pm (and there’s not a 6.30 service).

Morning Service

Sunday morning service 10.30 – 11.45am

The Sunday morning service is a key time when the church family meets together for worship and teaching.  We are not a large church, and there is usually about 40 people present on a Sunday morning.   The service starts at 10.30am with some worship songs or hymns and these are projected onto the screens.  Our music consists of a mixture of modern worship songs with more traditional hymns accompanied by guitars and sometimes piano.  There will be a variety of child-friendly activities (usually a talk or an activity).  If you are new to the church, a small welcome pack is available.  This contains helpful information and one of these will be handed to you.

We then have a talk based on the teaching in the Bible.  This part usualy lasts about 20 minutes.  On the first Sunday of the month, the service also includes communion.

The service finishes by 11.30/11.45 and we have tea and coffee afterwards which everyone is welcome to stay for. There is no charge and we don’t take collection during the morning.

We would love to see you at Hasbury on Sunday mornings where you will be very, very welcome.

Communion Service

Sunday 6.30 – 7.45pm

The Communion Service is an ‘open worship’ service and is a key part of how we worship here at Hasbury Community Church. Anyone attending can follow the leading of The Holy Spirit and take part in the worship.  This is usually by praying, or giving a reading from the Bible, or asking for a particular song for worship, or sharing some thoughts or experiences.  Also, there is oportunity to just quietly join in with the worship. We rely on The Holy Spirit’s leading, to guide us in our worship and this is always a very special time – sometimes quiet and reflective, sometimes upbeat and celebratory, always special.  At an appropraite time during the service, the leader will  share the communion.  We welcome anyone one loves the Lord Jesus Christ to join with us as we share communion together.

Communition Service

In the past, we always used a silver goblet to pass around the Communion Wine.  Now, we offer individual glass cups.  You can select a cup with traditional communion wine or a cup with non-alcoholic fruit juice.  The communion bread is gluten free.

Café Church

Cafe Church is on the First Sunday of each month – 3.00pm onwards.

Cafe Church is definitely an informal event – not the usual church service format. There is no congregational singing and no ‘sermon’.  However, we do have a varied programme of items which will get you thinking about the topic being focused on.  Sometimes there will be performances of various types.  This might be songs or dance or maybe a drama sketch.

There is always a short, fun quiz which is also loosly based on the theme.  We are all sat around tables with tea, coffee and biscuits, and there’s opportunity to discuss the topical issues in the theme.  Sometimes we use short video, or ‘talking heads’ to explore the theme. There will certainly be a variety of ‘goings on’.
Then at the end, a light tea is available with opportunity to talk.

Cafe Church

Just to give an idea, here are some topics covered in the past:

  • ‘Is there anybody out there?’
  • ‘What’s good about Good Friday?’
  • ‘Fair Trade! What’s that all about?’
  • ‘How does God see us?’

Look out for the next topic in the forthcoming Café Church. This will be posted on our Facebook page

If Cafe Church does not sound like your ‘cup of tea’ then you might want to consider one of our other informal, but more convetional Sunday services.

As well as Cafe Church, we have weekly Morning Worship which is suitable for everyone to come to.

You might also like our weekly Communion Service each Sunday evening for a more reflective and worshipful service.
