Hasbury Community Church is a Fairtrade Church.

Fairtrade is about securing better prices, safer working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers.  Working with farmers and workers in more than 1,900 producer organisations, across 68 countries, the aim is to improve their living standards, invest in their communities and businesses, and protect our shared environment.  Fair prices provide an immediate lifeline for farmers and workers struggling with low incomes and disadvantaged by global trade.

Being a ‘Fairtrade Church’ means we have agreed to:

  • Use Fairtrade tea and coffee after services and in all our events and meetings.
  • Move forward on using other qualifying products such as sugar, biscuits and fruit.
  • Promote the principles during Fairtrade-Fortnight and during the year through events, worship and other activities whenever possible.

Fair-trade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. Hasbury Community Church is very happy to be part of this vision.

We are also very pleased to support Halesowen’s own Fairtrade Shop.  That’s TRAIDPOINT, which is located within St John’s Church in the town centre.  Have a look at what they have to offer.

In addition, we have a small stall at Hasbury Community Church where a selection of products can be bought.  These products include tea, coffee, chocolate, biscuits, pasta, rice, sugar and more.
